The Kingdom of Egypt (Arabic: دولة مصر الملكية) is a country located in northeast Africa. Ruled by the Ottomans until 1776, the Mamluk class regained control until the British invasion of 1885 and the establishment of the constitutional Tahirid monarchy. Occupied by enemy forces during the Great War, the country joined the Organization of Democratic Nations in 1937.
