Arpitania, officially the Republic of Arpitania (Arpitan: Repebleucca dé Arpitanì), is an Alpine county in continental Europe landlocked by its neighbours France, Switzerland, and Piedmont. The communard republic was established in 1935, when the Savoyard monarchy was overthrown with French succour during the Great War.
