The Sultanate of Dar Runga, commonly known as Dar Runga (Arabic: دار رونجا Dār Rūnga), is a country in central Africa bordered by Equatoria and the Congo to the south and Bornu, Wadai, and Gimbala in the west, north, and east. Its name derives from the Runga people, who in the late 19th century broke away from Wadai, establishing a sovereign monarchy centered upon the Shari river basin.
