Rupert's Land officially The Province of the Hudson Bay and its Dependencies (French: La province de la baie d'Hudson et ses dépendances/Terre de Rupert)(Dutch: De provincie van de Hudson Bay en haar afhankelijkheden) is a Province in North America bordered by New France to the east and south and Tussenland to the west and Hudson Bay to the north. Rupert‘s land also has a dependencies of British Arctic islands/ Rupert’s Arctic islands.
History
Various indigenous people have a habited of Rupert‘s land for thousands of years at the beginning of colonization in the 1600s the British and French sent expedition expeditions into Rupert‘s land [Insert the wars the Great Britain and France had between 1600-1790] with the British establishing the Hudson‘s Bay Company to oversee for trapping. The Territory had little European settlement but the population started to rapidly increase in the 1760s causing the population to increase from about 2,000 to 25,000 and by the first census in 1800 the population was 70,000 mostly British and Dutch in origin. The Hudson’s Bay Charter act(1800) created a civil government for the territory with a legislature headed by a speaker with and a Governor general as Head of government. With the HBC being allowed to maintain control of native or unsettled areas
Government and Politics
The government of Rupert‘s land opuses under a parliamentary democracy with a constitutional monarchy with Queen Elizabeth II as Sovereign with the official style of the monarch as "Elizabeth the second by the grace of god Queen of the United Kingdom, Queen of Rupert‘s land, Queen of their dependencies, Defender of the Faith"
