Various indigenous people have a habited of Rupert‘s land for thousands of years at the beginning of colonization in the 1600s the [[British]] and [[French]] sent expedition expeditions into Rupert‘s land ''[Insert the wars the Great Britain and France had between 1600-1790''] with the British establishing the Hudson‘s Bay Company to oversee for trapping. The Territory had little European settlement but the population started to rapidly increase in the 1760s causing the population to increase from about 2,000 to 25,000 and by the first census in 1800 the population was 70,000 mostly British and Dutch in origin.
