China, officially the Republic of China (Chinese: 華夏民國), is a country in East Asia with the largest population. It borders the countries of Russia, Mongolia, Serindia, Tibet, Vietnam, Siam, and Erawa.

The country has been dominated by the Han Chinese people for millennia. Modern China's origins stem from the Canton-based state that split off from the Qing empire in the 1850s. Constitutional reform led to the establishment of a Chinese republic in 1931 and the reunification of China in 1936.
