They recognize a common history and civilization founded upon freedom, democracy, and civil law. They are resolved to uphold this Treaty in mutual defense for the stability of each sovereign nation.

The Signatories declare that this organization will work towards international peace between itself and all other sovereign nations. If the threat of force is used against one Signatory it is used against all members, in which a joint defense will be established to secure stability and peace.

The Signatories create a Defense Council, with each member sending a representative to negotiate on behalf of its sovereign nation in the matters of mutual defense and aid.

The Signatories create an Economic Council, with each member sending a representative to negotiate on behalf of its sovereign nation in the matters of mutual commerce and trade.

===== Article 5 =====
The Signatories will adopt a common policy for access of the Mississippi River and its tributaries.

The Signatories may agree, only if unanimously, to the addition of any other American State to carry out the principles of this Treaty and to continue the stability of region.

The Signatories agree that this Treaty does not dissolve any previous agreements made between other sovereign nations unless stated in this Treaty.

The Association of North American Nations (Amerikaens: Verbond van Nördamerikaense Staeten, Spanish: Asociación de Países de Norteamérica, French: Association des pays du nord de l'Amérique, Corean: 북미國가연맹) is a political and economic union of seven member states in northern America established in 1951.
