The '''War of Humiliation''', also known as the '''Cantonese War (1850),''' was a 19th century colonial war over European influence in China. It pitted the Great Qing Empire and her allies the [[Kingdom of the Netherlands]] against the British, French and the breakaway Cantonese Kingdom. The war lasted 7 years and is considered to be the bloodiest colonial war of the 19th century with numbers of causalities that weren't matched until the [[East Indies Crisis (1960-1976)|East Indies Crisis]] in the 1960's & 1970's.
