The Simmoria ([sɛmoɾija]; from Greek συμμορία, symmoría), also colloquially known as the Rovers ('robbers'), is a group of mainly ethnos-based criminal societies in New Netherland that emerged during the early 20th century. Early manifestations of the Simmoria were established by Greek immigrants, eventually including several clans of Arab, Slavic, and working-class Amerikaeners of Western European descent. They often refer to themselves as the Küdonies ('quince') since the quince fruit were popularized in New Netherland by immigrants from the pre-Great War Ottoman Empire.
