List of leaders of Florida
From Roses, Tulips, & Liberty
In the first decades since Florida's independence, the presidency has been dominated by the Alianza para la Reconstrucción Nacional (Alliance for National Reconstruction, shortened as APLRN), the political faction that had emerged victorious from the Floridano Civil War, with Prudencio Ortelano as its first post-independence leader. This came to an end following the 1982 March on the Villa protest, which resulted in the resignation of President Sergio Villaverde and led to the country's first free elections.
